Southern Payroll & Bookkeeping took first place in Best Bookkeeping & Payroll at Chattanooga’s Best of the Best People’s Choice Awards 2025.
The winners were announced at the Best of the Best banquet on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at the Chattanooga Convention Center. The awards are run by the Chattanooga Times Free Press, and the category winners are decided by public vote — which is the part that matters to us.
Why this one means something
We did not campaign for this. There was no ad spend behind it and no incentive for voting. It came from clients and neighbors who took the time to fill out a ballot and put our name in the box.
You can win an industry award by impressing a panel. You only win a people’s choice award if the people you actually serve decide to say so publicly. Of the recognition we have received, this is the one we would have picked.
Local, even though we work in all 50 states
We process payroll and keep books for businesses in every state in the country. But we are a Chattanooga firm, staffed by people who live here. When a client calls, they reach someone who knows what a Tennessee unemployment filing looks like, and what the Georgia and Alabama rules do to a company that is growing across state lines.
Being voted first by this community, in a category that names both halves of what we do, is a good indication we are getting that balance right.
